Change language. Install Steam. Store Page. Global Achievements. Mich View Profile View Posts. Hi, can someone tell me how to control this game on keyboard? I tried to mess up with sensitivity in options and it helped a bit but still, it's not very usefull.

The controller works well, if you have one. Open the Learning Center to find all of the things you need to know, including all of the keyboard shortcuts! If you want to enjoy the Sim to the full, I would deffinetly recomend getting a Joystick. I know joystick would be the best but buying gaming hardware for one game isn't an option for me when gamepad can be used for multiple games. Meanwhile I found out that switching to mouse control and using spacebar for looking around is much better and so either I will use this or xbox controller.

Why don't you just watch some flying videos on YouTube? Nearly the same as flying with a keyboard. And you could have saved yourself 5. Really, you can't begin to appreciate this sim with a keyboard. Oh, forgot to tell you. Good idea. But in the Sim you have these Key Command 'groups': 1. Simulator, Views and Multiplayer, 2. Aircraft, Control, Engine and Autopilot, plus 3.

Radios, Instrument, Lights and Slew. There must be plus commands. You only have 50 key 'combos' or so to use. Do the math. In FS9 they had a keyboard layout with these groups. One page for each. So you would have to have 3 different overlays.

But for FSX you can just print out the very nice 1 page list made by 'Radarman' and keep it handy. You can scan and divide it into 2 pages to get larger text size for easier reading. Chuck BNapamule. Store Page. Global Achievements. I tried looking online this morning for a keyboard template showing common keys used for FSX and P3D. I was only able to find examples in tabular form. Which is ok but I wanted something that replicated the layout of the keyboard itself.

It was surprisingly difficult to find one.

So I downloaded a blank template and created one from scratch. I've uploaded a PDF version if anyone wants to use it and the original Publisher file if you want to make your own tweaks or create one for a different sim.

One thing I will say - it is too hard to read in A4 format and would definitely be better in A3 size if you intend to print it off.

Without a doubt, one of the best investments that you can make when using a flight simulator is to pick up a flight stick and a gaming keyboard. However, not everybody is going to be able to make the most of these features because of the massive scope for using the keyboard when in-flight.

Then, I discovered the brilliance of hotkeys and keyboard commands. In conjunction with my own flight stick, I was able to take control of a flight far more readily and steer it in the direction that I needed to go. This excellent list of commands and controls can be just what you need to get things moving; rather than always trying to click with the mouse, or spending forever looking for a certain feature, you can do it with a simple press of a button.

Thanks to the excellent use of hotkeys you can avoid having to deal with this kind of situation too often, and will eventually start to master those little shortcuts that will save you from crashing the aircraft looking for too long! If you are able to get used to hitting all these little keys in front of you it can feel far more like the real thing than constantly clicking with a mouse.

I struggled to engage with flight simulators at first because of this, but once I got into the habit of using keyboard shortcuts to get things done I found that not only did my flying skills improve, but my actual enjoyment of using a flight simulator shot up as well!
